So, here’s the scoop—Mary and Daniel are beyond adorable. Their bright, beautiful happiness on their big day just makes us happy. Thankfully, Lauren J. was there to capture all the smiles! (Lauren also managed to capture some pretty beautiful florals as well!)
What made the wedding special and unique?
What made our wedding special to me was that we kept it small! I went back and forth with how to involve everyone I love into this special day but ultimately I wanted a more intimate reception. I am SO glad we only had our closest family and friends with us that day!! I loved that I was able to get married so near to my home, Newport Beach. It is a place near and dear to my heart.
Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it?
My wedding dress was a lucky find! I knew I wanted to feel beautiful but had no idea what my dress was going to look like. I had looked at several shops but nothing was doing it for me. I had decided to get one made and Kamdyn (my cousin/wedding planner/make-up artist/florist) convinced me to try David’s bridal, so I gave it a chance and was so thrilled and shocked to find MY dress. I put it on and felt like dancing! That’s how I knew it was the one. Oh and it had pockets which is an automatic plus!! It was the most magical decision of the wedding planning process, aside from our engagement!
What were some touches added to make it personal?
The touches that I felt made it personal were the beautiful flowers! I love flowers and was so happy to have been able to help in the process of picking them out. I wanted a fresh lovely evening and I felt like we accomplished just that. I loved the photo wall as well, of our grandparents’ and parents’ wedding pictures. I have lost both my grandparents but I was happy their presence was felt with their photos.
What was the most memorable part of the day?
The most memorable part of the day was probably when we walked out of the temple as Mr. and Mrs. Taylor and seeing all my favorite people waiting to hug and congratulate me! I honestly remember looking around and thinking “everything is perfect!!!”
Tell us how you met and became engaged?
We met at school but didn’t fall in love until we lived on opposite sides of the world. I knew he was a good guy but wasn’t sold on him being my one and only!! After 4 months of not seeing but staying in contact we saw each other for the first time and absolutely fell in love. It was like love at first sight, but we already knew each other…weird I know but it’s true! One month later he surprised me on my birthday with my favorite piece of jewelry, my diamond ring. The rest is history.
