When making decisions for their wedding day at Castle Hill Inn, Katie and Andrew knew they “just wanted the entire event to feel natural, relaxed, and fun.” The couple asked their friend – who happens to be a great artist – to paint a watercolor of the venue for a Save the Date postcard and everything unfolded from there. They enlisted an etsy vendor to create a custom watercolor branch motif and monogram for the invitations by Emerald Invitations and florist, Kim, from Greenlion Design helped them to create an amazing natural aesthetic for the day. We’re definitely loving the stunning, greenery-filled ceremony arch and the dangling vine escort card display—so cool! Lucky for us, one of our faves, Erin McGinn Photography, was on hand to capture all the details in her gorgeous signature style.
from the bride: Andrew grew up in Rhode Island, and Newport has been a special part of our relationship. Most of our friends and family are on the east coast, so Newport seemed like the perfect place to have the ceremony and reception. When choosing a venue, we wanted to get married somewhere that meant something to us. Andrew’s family used to spend New Years’ at Castle Hill Inn, and they actually hosted his christening party there when he was a baby. Having that element of history made the venue feel that much more special.
