Calling all stylists

Help, help, help.

We’re under the year mark and I’m stuck in a wedding rut. It seems I can’t make a decision to save my life. So in addition to my MOHs (that’s right, I have two) I’m enlisting your opinion, dear Reader. Help me pick the men & maids’ garb. I’ve bounced back and forth from soft pinks, to lilac purples and last night, as I laid my little head to sleep, I couldn’t get sea foam and sage greens off my mind. Sigh.

The more I plan this wedding bonanza the more I realize how horrible things can actually turn out when not given enough consideration. How do I make the right choices to ensure I don’t look back and wonder, “What the heck was I thinking?!” How do good ideas go bad? And I mean baaaaaaaad. So you tell me: what color palette is best?

Ah yes, the many choices we face! I'd go with colors that create more contrast with your gown. I'm a sucker for the Sea foam/Sage and grey combination personally. It's very stylish and classy enough to still look great in photos 30 years from now. We all know you'll look awesome regardless!

I like either the green/gray combo or the purple/gray combo. Both are classy and timeless. Consider whether your ladies want to be able to wear the dress again--that may help! I have been a bridesmaid more times that I would have ever imagined and have never worn the dresses again, which kind of bums me out!

Hey Lady... All pretty pastels, you can't go wrong with either really...Mint, Pink & Lilac are all Pretty, the sage is Soft yet sophisticated...so if you want think about what you want to portray, Pretty or Sophisticated... If it were me, I'd say sage :) xx Synderela

I vote for pink and gold! I use so much gold in cakes and pink is always in season (just change the shade) that we love it here. Can't wait to see how the wedding turns out!

I personally am a sucker for cooler colors, so my vote would be to do seafoam/purple/grey combo! All those colors would look fantastic together! Maybe have the bridesmaids wear one color and the groomsmen the other? That's what I'm planning on doing!

All great choices, but I vote for the seafoam for the ladies and a classic black tux for Mr. Lady Katie. For what it's worth, try not to let the time pressure drive your decisions. I have made a few decisions this year under pressure, only to change my mind later when I had time to think about what was really best or made sense. Since you are only a year out from your wedding, you have TONS of time to think about style, design and colors. As long as your big decisions (venue, vendors etc.) are taken care of, I say take some time to really think through and plan out the fun things!

I vote the lavender/lilac! Pink is beautiful but very standard, and the sage is my second favorite choice, but the purple is just so sweet. And I vote for the groom in a tux. One thing I wish I'd done differently is ask my husband to wear a tux rather than a suit.
