We’re totally loving photographer Maria Doka‘s images from Michelle and Isaac’s intimate Brooklyn wedding at Maison May Dekalb. Maria captures the essence of the adorable couple, along with some spectacular light, on a sunny Brooklyn day. Michelle’s Mark Zunino gown is perfection—at once modern and incredibly romantic while her groom is timelessly dapper in his classic Burberry tux. The couple celebrated with a minimal ceremony and reception and went all-in on a local dessert bar including a macaron-decorated wedding cake and doughnuts from Doughnut Plant. It’s all the sweet details that are sure to make you smile!
from the photographer: I seriously don’t even know where to start with these two! Michelle & Isaac were one of the most beautiful couples, inside and out, that I’ve had the honor of working with as well as capturing. Their love story was so genuine and their love just radiates. Being able to capture their kind of love is why I love what I do. I’m such a lover of intimate weddings! They are my favorite. This gorgeous couple got married and had an intimate wedding in Brooklyn at Maison May. Maison May Dekalb is the dreamiest of wedding locations. This venue is so charming and cozy, and basically everything an intimate wedding should consist of. And let me just say…the sun flares this day were out of control good. Non-stop swooning.
My favorite moment of Michelle and Isaac’s day was their first look (actually I had a ton of favorite moments!) I set up their first look over at the Fort Greene park monument right in the center of Fort Greene Park. There was this amazing teal / vintage door that was perfect for the scene. Michelle’s gorgeous veil was flowing so perfectly for each shot during this portion of the day which made the first look even more amazing. GAH! The raw emotions and their genuine love is what made this first look so special. Michelle’s designer friend Isidoro Francisco, who actually went with Michelle to pick her wedding dress out, brought one of his designs (a gorgeous bomber) to take some shots in after the first look. Michelle naturally killed it. I mean, c’mon! Look at her! I loved the edgy vibe that the bomber added to Michelle’s gorgeous Mark Zunino dress as well as the significance of wearing one of her best friends’ designs on her wedding day.
I can go on and on about this wedding and this amazing couple. But lastly, for all of you sweet lovers out there like myself, Michelle & Isaac had THE BEST dessert table at Maison May. Seriously, the best spread! Doughnuts from Doughnut Plant, cookies from Momofuku Milk Bar, cupcakes from Molly’s Cupcakes, the most stunning wedding cake with french macarons on top from Cannelle Patisserie… WHAT! YES. Oh, and the most darling L’occitane Perfumed Sachet’s as wedding favors. From start to finish, this wedding was one for the books! I seriously love Michelle & Isaac and I feel so beyond honored to have documented their beautiful love as well as their beautiful wedding day! Enjoy + Cheers!
