It’s a rare treat to have our couple’s love story sent to us by the groom. Johnny’s words were so sweet, we just had to share them with you. He and his bride, Tina, tied the knot southern style in Alabama this spring, and the images by Green Tree Photography are so romantic, we knew you’d absolutely adore!
From the groom:
My name is Johnny M. Johnson II. I’m was born in Austin TX, but spent most of my life in Loachapoka, AL, so that’s where I call home. I’m the oldest of 3. I’m a mommas boy and really love my family. I’ve always dreamed of having a family of my own, with a wonderful wife and children that I can give my love to. I came to Huntsville for school in 2003, and have been here since. I met Tina at Directv. We were both signing our paper work to start working there, and looked up at her and thought to myself she was very beautiful, but I just did not think she would talk to me with us signing papers. Later on, I started taking her out to lunch and getting to know her a little more… I told my mother and her mother that I wanted to propose to her Christmas Eve. I told her that we should have a family Christmas so that each side of the family could get to meet each other. Tina knew that I was going to give a little toast thanking the family for coming together, so I had her cheesecake in my hand. As I thanked the family for coming I then started telling Tina how special she is to me and thanking her for helping me to become the man that I am and thanking God for placing us back into each others lives, but while I was saying all of that I could read her lips as she was mouthing “No, he can’t be doing what i think he’s doing.” As I got closer to her my heart was pounding. I knelt down in front of her and turned the cheesecake around and asked her to marry me and the ring was on top of the cheese cake. It took her awhile to say yes, because of the tears of joy and excitement, but she finally said YES!! I really just thank God for placing up back in one another’s lives and for the things that I went through to get back to Tina. She really is a blessing in my life, and I’m thankful to call her my wife!
