Michele and David celebrated their big day with a lovely outdoor celebration at Blooming Hill Farm. We love the rustic styling of the ceremony which included natural tree bark benches and a birch chuppa as well as the gorgeous wildflower-inspired florals by GBC Style Flowers sprinkeled throughout the tented reception. The color palette included pops of red, merlot and real lavender and is offset by the stunning bridal party in deep green gowns. But, we can not continue without a shout out to the bride’s BREATHTAKING Anne Barge Bridal gown. It’s elegant and timeless and beyond photogenic. Lucky for us Photo by Basia was on hand to capture the bride, her perfectly tailored groom and all the lovely details of the day.
What made the wedding special and unique?
The ceremony was so special. We decided to have a family friend, Rob Gordon, officiate our wedding. The Gordons have known my husband’s family for many years and so it was truly such a personal, heartfelt ceremony. Rob really knocked it out of the park!
Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!
We had been shopping for almost a month – visited a handful of boutiques and tried on almost every gown imaginable! We finally had our appointment at Kleinfeld. I was on my way back to the dressing room when I saw the dress hanging, just waiting for me to set my eyes on it. I thought, “Hmm, I think i should try this on.” Once I came out in it and showed my family, I knew it was the one. It fit so well, was sexy, classic, all the things I wanted in my dress. I felt so comfortable in it. Meant to be! The dress was part of a two-day trunk show and was only going to be in the store for one more day. Our consultant, Paula, was kind enough to meet us early the next morning to try it on again. And that was that!
What were some touches added to make the wedding personal?
My husband had a great idea of gathering his close friends from his work at a restaurant to pour champagne for the toasts. He found six double magnums of beautiful rose champagne and each friend took a bottle and walked around the tables, pouring for guests. It was great, they were really happy to be a part of our special day.
What was the most memorable part of the day?
So many great memories, I think the best memory was when my sister’s boyfriend got on stage and sang the hora. I had no idea until someone told me to look at the stage and there Joey was, belting it out! He did such a great job, the band told him to keep going!
Tell us how you met.
David and I met in college…our freshman year dorms were actually right next to each other (separated by a stairwell) and we had no idea until years later! I am very close friends with a girl he went to high school with (I also met her in college), so we would run into each other every now and then, but the timing wasn’t right until senior year when we decided to start dating…and now here we are!
