I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

When Bryan and I were planning our wedding, one of the locations that I DESPERATELY wanted to get married at was Pippin Hill Farm and Vineyards. Located on a vineyard in Charlottesville, Virgina, Pippin Hill is one of the most gorgeous venues I’ve ever seen! We are so excited to be able to announce that they are offering a Winter Weddings Collection package, that not only allows you the opportunity to host a cozy winter destination wedding in the picturesque venue, but also gives you several added perks and savings to make it even sweeter!

If you book your wedding from December 1 to March 16, your package will include goodies like spiced cider and hot chocolate to welcome guests, s’mores, event insurance, and even day of coordination! Want to see some real weddings at Pippin Hill??? Head here!

To show off Pippin Hill, here are images by Eric Kelley from a shoot we featured last year (one of our all time faves!!!). The first image below is by Elisa B. You can see more of these images here and here. To find out more about hosting your wedding at Pippin Hill, download their entire brochure here.

Do you remember Carmen Miranda? She was a Portuguese-born Brazilian samba singer, dancer, Broadway actress, and film star often best remembered for donning a fruit basket on her head during her musical numbers. Photographer Jennifer Sosa thought it would be fun to begin a series of inspiration shoots bring fictional characters to life, so today we bring to you Carmen Miranda’s wedding, which is perfectly executed with all the color, personality and tropical flare we’d expect. We feel so beyond lucky to share such a gorgeous shoot! The team that came together to create these images is incredibly talented–everything from hair, make up, florals, rentals, wardrobe, styling–it’s the work of imagination, which is where great style is born! Be sure to check out the magazine that Jen created as well–it tells the full story of Carmen Miranda!

From Jen:

People often ask me why I love this woman. I reply by saying, “Have you seen her perform??” Carmen has a vibrant character that lights up the stage. She’s often noted for her eccentric style, and most notable for wearing a fruit basket on her head. hey, not many people can pull off dancing with a fruit basket on her head and still manage to look fabulous. I know I know beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The minimalist might look at her and cringe. I look at her and admire her character. She was so full of life! I dare you to watch her perform and not have a smile on your face. I’d love to spend an afternoon with that woman.

Our darling favorite photographer, Jen Huang, recently hosted one of her outrageous workshops in Santa Barbara. I had the chance to speak to her attendees and as usual, she put together a GORGEOUS class and shoot for her attendees. We thought you might enjoy the initial inspiration board Jen created, along with her description. And then of course, all the stunning images! Beyond love!

From Jen:

Every workshop that I put on ends with a decadent styled shoot–it’s fun and incredibly helpful to have such a hands on portion of the day. I hesitate to call this an “inspiration” shoot, but rather prefer the name “portfolio” shoot because the idea behind the collaboration was to highlight the talents of all the vendors involved. Much like planning a wedding, a proper portfolio shoot allows all the vendors to work on one concept but encourages them to give their own interpretation of it – I like the freedom that a shoot like this offers for everyone involved. This shoot, like many of my shoots, finds its inspiration in art, and in this case: rustic Dutch still life paintings. It took the talents of many amazing wedding artists working very hard to produce such a gorgeous afternoon! Sarah Winward and Borrowed Blu Rentals worked together to design the table scape pictured. The unstructured family kitchen style table puts a new spin on wedding decor and highlights the raw production behind a wedding meal. I love the giant and mini artichokes and the rainbow chard, the colors blend beautifully with Sarah’s organic centerpieces. Cassandra from Borrowed Blu used bits of handmade pottery, pressed glassware, all with a hint of green, and paired it with antique silver platters and trays. The silver was reflected in the jaw dropping Temperley gown from Nearly Newly Wed (which you can purchase directly on the site!). Laura and Brian, our handsome models were a mix of glamourous yet natural (my favorite pairing!) thanks to the lovely makeup and hair work of Erica from 1011 Makeup. I absolutely loved the up-do! Laura carried a bouquet by Sarah, and wore simple white satin shoes with rose shoe clips from Freya Rose London. Invitations used watercolor and calligraphy and touched on the organic green garden look, with a natural wooden envelope. Last but not least, the delicious and beautiful leaf sugar flowers were sent all the way from New York but the sweet Emily of Lael Cakes. This was one of my favorite shoots to put together, and we had such luck with the beautiful weather and light we had in Santa Barbara that day!

What would a wedding look like if Kate Spade planned your wedding? Well, A Charming Occasion imagined it for us in this fun and flirty inspiration shoot shot by Anna Delores Photography. We’re obsessing over the emerald sequin linens from La Tavola Linen, the graphic invites by Alissa Bell Press and modern florals by Stella Bloom Designs. Clearly, this is Lady Grey approved.

Tucked away on the east end of Long Island is a little beach town we absolutely LOVE called Montauk.  Since moving to Manhattan three and a half years ago, we have made it a summer tradition to escape the city for our favorite town.  Just past the Hamptons is Montauk, home to many famous residents, with Ralph Lauren being on the top of that list…a little more about the migration to montauk can be found here.

For our shoot we envisioned a couple that had just tied the knot, cruising out to Montauk in their Jeep Wagoneer for their honeymoon.  The couple would stay at ruschmeyer’s (one of our favorite hotels in the area), a summer camp inspired lodge. The hotel is inspired by the property’s original function back when it was first built in the 1950s –a summer camp.  Their stay in montauk consisted of ping pong matches, hanging out in the teepee, snorkeling at the beach, swinging in the backyard, and relaxing in their camp inspired bedroom complete with hammock.
