Happy Engagement Wednesday! Sarah and Brody’s engagement session is just in time for Christmas. They traipsed out to Benjamin’s Tree Farm in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada along with their photographer Erin Samuel of A Simple Photograph and props provided by Hazlitt Vintage Rentals. This shoot commemorates the selection and cutting of their first Christmas tree together. Tell me how festive you’re feeling. Doing the holidays right, no?

Happy Holidays, lovelies! We’re just days away from Christmas and I’m so looking forward to this holiday week. The chilly weather has arrived just in time! I hope you don’t have any loved ones who are stuck in the crazy winter storms that are wreaking havoc throughout the states and Western Europe. I certainly hope you’ll be surrounded by loved ones as we celebrate the holiday season.
I wanted to start off this week with a special edition holiday inspiration shoot, sent to us by photographer Suzanne of She Wanders and stylist Jennifer Nesovic. This shoot has me feeling all cozy and ready for some seasonal cuddling. This photo shoot makes me wish I had room to add baking on this week’s to-do list.
More goodies coming your way all week, so gear up! It’s like little daily presents from Grey to you!

The floral decor was lovingly chosen and styled by Sharon Mintz of Organic Elements. Every single package and paper element was carefully made with the expert hands of Courtney Scowby of Brightly Designed. The big delicious chocolate winter wonderland cake was made by the Fabulous Baker Girls at Cake. And the uber cute models were real life adorable couple Maria and Quan.
Last weekend I was honored to be invited to a California Christmas party, hosted and produced by Leila Kahlil of Be Inspired PR. Several bloggers and designers all gathered at the home of Carissa Jones of JL Designs and Events to feast and sit down at a lavish table (such a rare treat because we usually create inspiration without getting a chance to enjoy it!). With florals by JL Designs and event design by Cortnie Purdy of Canvas and Canopy, it was honestly the loveliest Christmas party I’ve ever attended! And of course, here’s proof, with images by Leo Patrone (meeting Leo felt like meeting a celebrity…he’s just that awesome).
I’ve got tons of images and vendor information as we go, but if you can’t get enough, be sure to check out Green Wedding Shoes, 100 Layer Cake and Hostess with the Mostess, who were all attendees and will be featuring the event on their blogs today!

We were totally pampered with a scent station! Courtney of Kamilyin mixed up custom scents for us to take home in the form of soap, lotion and sugar scrubs. Talk about amazing! If you are hosting a bridal shower, she would be the perfect addition to pamper your guests!
I brought Carissa a bottle of wine with a sweater wine wrap. (Wanna make your own as a hostess gift? Check out the DIY here!).
We all had a chance to get “tan” at the “Let it Glow” tanning station provided by Danielle of Plush Tan. I absolutely loved my tan and I still think I’m looking just a bit darker.
The food and cocktails by Contemporary Catering was over-the-top delicious! I’m a sucker for cutie drinks too!
Cocktails and appetizers on the veranda with Jen from Green Wedding Shoes and Amanda from 100 Layer Cake! Too fun!
The desserts by Cupcakes Couture were absolute perfection. And by perfection, I mean, pretty and delicious. Quite a hard combo to come by.
A super darling banner hung above the dessert station that said: “Merry and Bright.” You can get your own here!
UPDATE!!! I can’t believe I forgot to mention originally…Jeni of Found Vintage Rentals provided all the amazing furniture! I love her more than words!
I can’t even handle how beautiful the table was. I literally cried when I saw it, because it was such a special opportunity to hang with some amazing women and really enjoy the types of things we admire, blog about and create on a daily basis. JL Designs and Canvas and Canopy–nailed it.
Me with my new favorite: Jesi Haack.
Thank you so much to everyone who was involved! Merry Christmas!
This shoot was sent over to me by the event designers of Sugar and Fluff. It was originally featured here, but I couldn’t resist sharing a few images with you. I really couldn’t forgive myself if I didn’t show you this cake by Some Crust Bakery, which is changing my life. Take a peek at some of these awesome ideas wrapped up in an inspiration shoot…I know you’re going to love it!

I love the idea of hosting an event in a greenhouse, especially during the chilly months. You can pretend like it’s summer in the winter! These images were sent over to me by Kendra of Summer Street Photography (who just so happens to be a Grey Likes Photographer!) This shoot made me think of an engagement party and I couldn’t help but think how much fun would it be to host a soiree in a greenhouse!
Here’s more information from Kendra about the shoot (for additional vendor credits, see below):
Our goal with this shoot was to inspire brides to use alternative event spaces that are indoors, yet still capture the beauty and light of outdoors. Summer Street Photography is based in Boston, where, like many places in the US, have cooler temperatures. Brides need to plan for indoor weddings at every season except summer. We used Russell’s Garden Center greenhouses as a beautiful (and warm!) space on a chilly October day. The bride’s bouquet was crafted by Shelley White at Bow Street Flowers in Somerville, MA while the bridesmaid bouquet was made by Russell’s Garden Center.
Happy Friday, lovelies! (Check back in later today for some cozy winter inspiration!)
