I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

When it comes to fall weddings, we’re always on the hunt for new ways to keep your wedding seasonal yet still unique. I love that Christie and Patrick used a  soft gold buttercream color for their wedding. It keeps everything elegant and warm for the fall and we don’t see this often, which of course we love! Very special thanks to Ashley of Brooke Images for sharing these gorgeous images! And of course, gorgeous design by Megan of A White Veiled Occasion.

Shayna and Jason’s fall wedding at the Smog Shoppe was, as the bride Shayna says, like a dinner party–only slightly bigger! All of the navy, jewel tones and candles created a very elegant atmosphere that is so perfect for Fall! Shayna shared with us insight into planning their incredibly personal and thoughtful wedding, so be sure to read her story! Very special thanks to wedding designers, Bash, Please, and photographer, James Moes, for letting us share their gorgeous work!

From the moment we started planning, we knew we wanted our wedding to feel like a bigger, better version of the small dinner parties we host at home. To that end we chose to use lots of candles, small, mix-and-match arrangements of flowers, and striped napkins–things we use at home, too–and brought our fire pit from home for late night s’mores. I’m not sure anyone noticed, but we even bought extra versions of our own salt and pepper shakers for the tables. We wanted the reception to feel warm and intimate and deeply romantic. I absolutely loved how the room glowed once the lights were turned down for dinner.

It was also important to us that wherever possible, we made sentimental choices. Our wedding china (which was a gift passed down from my grandmother) was placed at just our seats, so that we could always remember using it for our first meal as husband and wife, and my grandmother made our wedding cake herself. It wasn’t anything fancy, but it was much more special to me than any showstopping dessert could have been, and it’s a detail I’ll always be proud to
remember.

Aside from that, we wanted our guests to know how important they were to us on that day and always. To make the space personal not just for us but for everyone, we secretly printed and framed photos of our favorite memories with each of them. Then the photos were set up on the large bookshelves along one of Smog Shoppe’s far walls. It was fun to watch our guests discover the photos.

Once I saw a how-to guide on making printed envelopes out of wallpaper in a bridal magazine, I had my heart set on doing it. It wasn’t easy, but my mom, my dad, and my sister-in-law each pitched in (thanks you guys!) and I absolutely loved how they turned out. It was a really nice way to add some style to an otherwise classic invitation.

In the end, we couldn’t have been happier with our vendors. We got compliments for weeks on the food, the drinks, the music, the flowers, James’ beautiful photos, the video–everything. Best of all, I got to exchange vows with someone I love more than words could describe in front of the people who make our marriage a family.

Kierra and Kevin’s BEAUTIFUL garden wedding took place at AMOA Laguna Gloria in Austin, Texas. We absolutely adore the soft colors, lush florals, and especially the flower girls’ dresses (and attitude!). Oh…and let’s not forget that fabulous rustic cake with no icing! Adore!

One of my favorite types of weddings to feature are those sent to us from faithful readers! It’s always wonderful to see inspiration that the real weddings on our blog helped to inspire! How wonderful that all of you beautiful women help one another with planning and ideas–it’s a little like “giving back” in a creative sort of way. Today, we’re honored to feature Erin and Andy’s gorgeous Aspen wedding, which took place at T Lazy 7 Ranch. Their flowers were designed by my dear friend, Lauryl Lane, coordinated by Pink Champagne Events and shot by Laura Murray. Here’s a little more from the gorgeous bride (and a faithful Grey reader) about their beautiful day:

For our wedding, Andy and I really wanted to create an atmosphere that truly reflected who we are as individuals and as a couple. I’m drawn to all things girly – soft pastels, lace, ribbon, calligraphy, watercolor, the color pink, and vintage finds. Andy on the other hand enjoys a good pair of cowboy boots, rustic elements, the color blue, and simplicity. Together, we are avid Colorado enthusiasts that love to hike, bike, camp, and just take in the great outdoors. Our wedding day was a perfect bend of both our styles. The venue provided the gorgeous Colorado setting and the rustic elements that Andy likes, and our soft and feminine decor represented my style perfectly. Our wedding day was honestly the best day. We were both able to relax, take in each moment, and savor the experience. Looking back, we couldn’t have asked for anything more!

We’re sticking with our Florida vibe from yesterday’s shoot, and heading down to Naples for Kate and John’s gorgeous beach wedding! Film photographer, KT Merry, always has us up in arms over her work–it just so lovely! I adore all the soft natural colors!
