I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Our favorite floral designer (possibly of all time) is Anna LePley Taylor, who just so happens to be the driving force behind our Secrets of a Stylist Workshop (of which the only date we’re offering this year so far happens to be coming up in a few short weeks: July 23rd!), came together with a crazy group of talented wedding pros to put together this inspiration shoot which we hope you’ll love (and start a new trend!). Yellow! Gold! Glamour!!! Together with photographer Diana McGregor, and design team, Jill & Co Events, they created a really drop dead stunner of shoot that we are up in arms about (in all the right ways). Anna is going to tell you all about the details whilst we revel in the glory that is sunshiney yellow goodness.

From Anna LePley Taylor:

Being a florist, often we are often given the responsibility of creating the tone of the wedding based on the color selected for the florals. I think it goes without saying that we see a lot of the same color requests over and over again. Most of these selections are based on the colors from styled shoots that have become popular and so when thinking about what kind of shoot we wanted to create, I wanted to combine a fresh take on colors.

Additionally, so many weddings recently have been “rustic” and we wanted to depart from this and give couples planning their weddings freedom to shamelessly return to elegant with a hint of modern.

The combination of deep antique gold and pale yellows reminds me of a late summer afternoon when the light becomes glowy. The opulent spilling tablecloth combined with the full romantic wedding dress by the lakeside is reminiscent of the old, lush south. Adding in elements of the groom’s white suit, clear glass plates, ghost chairs, and lucite reminds us that this couple is not entirely old-school southern elegance, but has a touch of modern and edge.

We hope you are as inspired by we were by this shoot!

The 4-1-1 from designer, Joy Proctor:

The terraced hills above the Amalfi Coast are home to some of the most incredible gardens and orchards. Most famously known for its lemons, and thus, its limoncello, I thought it only fitting to design a look that paid homage to this beautiful fruit. Preparing for her wedding, we followed a bride as she gathered lemons for her Mother and sister to prepare. She led the donkey through town before going to church.

Today’s feature is a surprise photo session that Andy planned for her husband, Adam, on their one year anniversary. Serendipitously, one of their favorite photographers (and one of ours too!), KT Merry was planning a trip at the same time the couple was to be in Positano! The stars aligned and here are the absolutely gorgeous photos to prove it! We’ll let Andy tell you the rest of the story!

Italy is such a special place for my husband and I.  He proposed to me on my 30th birthday in Milan in early 2012, and a year and a half later we were married in a small destination wedding in a region of Tuscany called Val d’Orcia.  Given our love of travel and immense love of all things Italy, it was only fitting that we spent our one year anniversary back in Italy.  This time around, we traveled south visiting the island of Capri, and small towns along the Amalfi Coast.

Prior to our vacation, I had learned that one of my favorite photographers that my husband and I both follow on Instagram, KT Merry, was scheduled to be in the area hosting a photography workshop.  When I found this out, I immediately reached out to her about doing a surprise one year anniversary photo session.  The timing was absolutely perfect because she was free during the 2 days we were in Positano, and was completely on board with the surprise!

The session was so much fun and he was totally shocked!  We took pictures all around the achingly beautiful town of Positano with the sherbert colored houses carved into the side of the mountain as the breathtaking backdrop.  It was more than I could have hoped for, and we will forever have these stunning images as a way to remember our one year anniversary!
