I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

Elegant, edited, classic—Sam and Bajro tied the knot in style with a ceremony and celebration at Monroe Golf Club planned by Black Label Events. The bride has this piece of advice for all you to-be’s: “find a moment to take it all in. Find a moment to feel what you are feeling. It’s the oldest piece of advice in the book, but the truest.” We couldn’t agree more. A beautiful booming historic country club backdrop, a stunning train on Sam’s lace Pronovias gown, a bridal party in pink and romantic florals by In Bloom add to the lovely moments of the day and it’s all captured by Alexandra Elise in these beautiful film images.

What was the most memorable part of the day?

His:  The first look, I couldn’t wait to see her! I had an idea of what I thought she would look like – her dress, her hair, but she looked even more beautiful. I loved the dress she chose, she was stunning.

Hers:  Our first look. Seeing him standing there, waiting for me, that was when it really hit me. The emotion of it completely sneaked up on me. I went back and forth about doing a first look, but I am so happy we did. It was a moment of pure happiness that we got to share privately, I will never forget that moment. Also, our first dance. He chose the song, so it was really special to me.

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

Bajro and I met at Winfield’s, on St. Patrick’s Day (2013). We both intended on just stopping by quickly to say hello to friends, but ended up spending the entire day and night talking and laughing – just the two of us. We had our first date the next night, but since he was moving to Nantucket the following morning, I didn’t expect to see him again. I woke up to a text from him that morning, and every morning after that.

The first trip Bajro and I took together was to Providence. He was living in Nantucket at the time, and I had a work conference in Boston, so we met there and drove to Providence for the weekend. We instantly fell in love with the area, and the following year decided to go back. On the first night of our trip, he drove me to this beautiful park right on the ocean. It was such a perfect night, but somehow we were the only two there. We watched the sun go down, and it was then that he proposed. Looking back, there were so many little clues that it was coming (I even took a picture of him in the car, where if you look closely, you can see the ring in his pocket!). But I was so surprised. I don’t think there is any feeling in the world like seeing the man you love down on one knee. It was perfect.

Words of Wisdom from the Bride:

Always circle back to what the day is about. It is so easy to get caught up in trying to make the day perfect. Things will happen, disappointments will happen, but remembering what this day is about will make everything else seem insignificant. Surround yourself with the people who want the best for you, who love you and support you. And lastly, find a moment to take it all in. Find a moment to feel what you are feeling. It’s the oldest piece of advice in the book, but the truest.
