Alright guys, this one is uh-dorable! Megan and Ben’s Florida wedding is filled with timeless style choices with the infusion of modern sensibilities. We love all of the pops of interest— raw-edge lace cap-sleeves on the bride’s dress, a cutout design on the bridal shoes (that perfectly matched the invitations btw), a gorgeous cascading hydrangea bridal bouquet (balanced by simple baby’s breath for the maids), black and white checker flooring at the venue and a wall of colorful books set the scene for some super cute portraits. Check out all the lovely details in these beautiful photos from Ailyn La Torre Photography!
What made the wedding special and unique?
As she sat down with Ben’s letter in hand, she took a deep breath. It had been quite a morning already but it was expected, it was her wedding day after all. When she started to open the paper seal, the room which had just a few seconds before been bustling with excited bridesmaids, fell silent. The moment she started to read his heartfelt words, tears filled her eyes. Tears of joy knowing that in a few hours she would marry her best friend, the man she met when they were just kids in high school – the one who owns her heart. She sat there quietly, reading every word carefully as if to memorize each letter and when she finished, she dabbed the tears from her cheeks and simply smiled…she knew the love of her life would soon be waiting for her at the end of the aisle and she could hardly wait to stand next to him and say “I do”.*
Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!
The bride wore a Nicole Miller Wedding Dress and looked like the epitome of classic and timeless bride.
What were some touches added to make it personal?
Their wedding ceremony was officiated by her pastor/uncle who had also baptized Megan when she was a baby…it was sweet moment coming full circle. Following by a gorgeous celebration at the (always amazing) Oxford Exchange. Their day was perfect in every way.
Tell us how you met and became engaged.
Megan attended an all girl’s high school. Across town Ben attended an all boys high school…the schools would often join forces to put together special dances or events…and during their freshman year a chance meeting between the two made for a 9 year romance….Megan and Ben were married at her alma mater, The Academy of Holy Names – where she not only graduated but met some of her lifetime friends – most of whom were bridesmaids.
