Meg and Robbie’s Wedding at Certus Loft in Greenville
featuring Chris Isham Photography
Meg and Robbie’s wedding at Certus Loft at Peace Center in upstate South Carolina is such a dreamy warehouse wedding. Planner and stylist, Jessica Rourke, was the visionary behind the beautiful event design and as the bride says “she makes all of your Pinterest dreams come true.” Well, those Pinterest dreams were spot on—the custom invitations by Laura Hooper set an airy, elegant tone and the florals by Fern Studio are out-of-this-world. They take the historic industrial building to another level—we’re talking green garlands draping from one end of the venue to the other, an incredible ceremony arbor, and an exterior doorway smattered with a bazillion white roses. Seriously amazing! Chris Isham Photography was the man behind the lens and we’re honored to be sharing his beautiful images. Enjoy!
What made the wedding special and unique?
Having the BEST team of vendors! They were all the most incredible people to work with and I felt like the most pampered bride throughout the entire planning process. Jessica planned every single detail to a T and made the whole process fun and easy! She literally thought of everything and I cannot imagine how things would have turned out without her. I keep telling everyone she makes all of your Pinterest dreams come true (and she’s adorable)! I wanted the wedding to be beautiful but with a relaxed atmosphere and she nailed it! We had the best time!
Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!
I wanted my dress to be a mix of traditional and modern, so I thought the illusion neckline with the lace appliqué detail was the perfect touch to be a bit trendy but hopefully not look back in 20 years and cringe too hard! When we went shopping my sister said, “In 20 years your kids will be laughing at it anyway so just get what you love!” The gown is “Legends” by Romona Kaveza and I got it from Bridals by Lori in Atlanta, GA. My older sister also purchased her gown there so it has become a family tradition now. My little sister pretty much has no choice! They are amazing and treat their clients so well! We had the best time!
What were some touches added to make the wedding personal?
One personal touch was having our longtime family friend, Linda Appleby officiate our wedding. She made the ceremony beautiful and special. Robbie and I will remember it forever. We felt so loved.
What was the most memorable part of the day?
When my dad saw me for the first time, and then walking down the aisle and seeing Robbie’s face. These are the big moments for a reason – so cliché but so true!
Tell us how you met and became engaged.
Robbie and I met on a pre-orientation trip before attending Furman University in 2008. From there we became best friends and eventually more. With the help of one of my best friends seven years later, he planned an incredible proposal and surprised me on the Speaker of the House’s balcony (at the time John Boehner) at The Capitol Building in Washington, D.C. It was beautiful, private, and so special. He thought of every single detail. He had flowers and champagne and I couldn’t have been more surprised (especially since I thought he was out playing golf with friends). Still not sure how they pulled it all off! Looking back, I should have known something was up when my longtime best friend cut me off from mimosas at brunch! It ended up being the most beautiful day and I am so grateful for their months of planning! I said YES of course!
