Real Weddings:
Kate and Brian’s wedding at Thomas Fogarty Winery
featuring Edyta Szyszlo Photography
Kate and Brian met through their love of horses, so incorporating their mutual equine admiration was important in the planning of the couple’s celebration at Thomas Fogarty Winery. Event designer and planner Kaella Lynn Events established the vision and rounded up a dream team including Huckleberry Karen Designs who created tons of gorgeous arrangements in pops of coral, pink and red against a green and white palette, with gorgeous rentals from One True Love Vintage Rentals and La Tavola Linen. One of our favorite details is the infusion of taupe gingham motif—the perfect amount of preppy-country-chic in an otherwise totally rustic-elegant affair. We know you’re going to love these gorgeous images by Edyta Szyszlo Photography who captured all the joy and scenery of the big day!
From planner, Kaella Lynn Events:
Kate and Brian were an absolute dream to work with – so in love, hugely inspiring as a designer and very trusting of me as their planner. In designing this wedding, it was important to capture the essence of what make Brian and Kate who they are both as individuals and as a couple. Brian is a 7th generation Californian, having grown up on his family’s ranch. He is a true outdoorsman, a cowboy and has stayed true to his rancher roots. Kate grew up in Boston. Her family’s Mediterranean roots greatly influenced her. Brian and Kate met through their love of horses and riding is a big part of their life. We even adorned their sweet horses, Elote and Lucky, with lush garlands for a special appearance in the First Look!
I selected white and green as a clean base of the color palette, accenting with pops of vibrant colors, including pink, red and orange. At the core of the wedding design is their passion for horses and riding, which you see in the paper goods, julep cups, horseshoes (which came from Kate and Brian’s own barn), vintage trophy. Kate’s Mediterranean heritage was represented in the olive branches, pops of colorful flowers by Huckleberry Karen Designs and menu by Culinary Eye Catering. The outdoor setting at the gorgeous Thomas Fogarty Winery, crisp white linens and farmhouse furnishings had a very whimsical and Californian vibe.
From the bride:
Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!
I bought the gown at Haute Bride in Los Gatos, CA. I loved it immediately. The neckline, the beading and the delicate, classical style really spoke to me.
What was the most memorable part of the day?
I’m from Boston. Brian is a 7th generation Californian. Being around so many of our family and friends from all over the world in our new home (we got married 2 miles from our current house) was SO special. Friends including our horses Elote and Lucky. We loved incorporating them into the ceremony.
Tell us how you met and became engaged.
We met through the horse riding community in the Bay Area, and our shared lifelong passion for horses. We got engaged on a gorgeous Highway 1 trail head overlooking the Pacific right outside of Bolinas.
