You guys are going to love this one! Cassie and Luke’s South Carolina affair planned by By Invitation Only…Event Planning & Design is filled with classic style and boatload of pink peonies. The couple honored their families and history with nods to the past like Luke’s colorful pocket square made from his grandfather’s tie, a little pink hummingbird that belonged to Cassie’s grandmother hidden in her bouquet and the lovely lounge highlighting a vintage mantle collected by the bride’s grandfather. But, we’d be lying if we didn’t say that the work of Darlington Florist is what keeps us ogling over this one—giant, pink peonies EVERYWHERE. Lucky for us, Catherine Ann Photography was there to capture it all in her signature delightful style.
from the photographer: Cassie and her bridesmaids started their day getting ready at the historic Oak Manor Inn which was only 2 houses down from the Drengaelen House (built in 1924) where the wedding reception was. What I loved most about their wedding was that Cassie & Luke honored their grandparents in so many different ways. Luke and his dad wore colorful pocket squares made from his grandfather’s old ties, Cassie had a little pink hummingbird hidden in her bouquet for one of her grandmothers, their outdoor lounge consisted of Cassie’s grandmother’s vintage furniture as well as an antique fireplace mantel that her grandfather had collected. It was so gorgeous and picture perfect!
Darlington Florist totally outdid themselves with the florals. Everything was bursting with color and was so lush! Cassie’s bouquet is definitely one of my top 3 favorites ever. Cassie & Luke took their food stations to another level and again, honored their grandparents! Their wedding favors were cheese straws, one of Luke’s grandmother’s specialties. The food stations were based on the culinary dishes that they ate together while at Clemson, what they love to eat in Charleston where they live, and also some of Cassie’s Mema’s specialty items like the gouda mac ‘n’ cheese. And there was a Chic Fil A station too! Their families all went to Clemson and are all huge fans. Cassie surprised everyone by playing a recorded toast from Dabo Swinney and the Clemson mascot made an appearance at the reception as well.
