Real Weddings:
Liah and Junny’s Wedding at Rio Salado Audubon Center
featuring Jay & Jess Photography
We’re definitely liking the vibe of this modern-organic wedding captured by Jay & Jess Photography. It’s a little glam, a little indie, a little graphic and totally authentic. We love the bride’s rhinestone-encrusted, sweetheart-cut Nicole Miller gown from Lovely Bride LA. It’s the perfect dose of bling for the modern and relaxed outdoor ceremony and DIY reception. Liah and Junny even created all the terrarium centerpieces themselves after hitting the farmers market two days before the wedding. Talk about a team!
What made the wedding special and unique?
Junny proposed with a puppy named Mochi with “will you marry me?” on his collar. It was special and meaningful to have Mochi part of our wedding day. He looked so cute in his tuxedo.
Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it.
I flew out to Los Angeles to find the dress. I went to a shop called Lovely Bride with mom, sister, and one of my bridesmaids. I put on the first dress that caught my eye and I cried!! But my mom wanted me to try a couple more. Good thing I did, because I bought the 4th one I tried on. I cried with a wrong dress on.
What were some touches added to make it personal?
I love DIY projects!! I learned calligraphy from tutorials online to write name cards and address on invitations myself to make it personal. Junny and I made decorations ourselves from ceremony setup to terrarium table center pieces. We actually drove to downtown Los Angeles flower market 2 days before the wedding. I know, it’s crazy! But we are kind of proud of ourselves. Pat on the back, good job team Park!
What was the most memorable part of the day?
Junny : the first look (quote “that moment was crazy”). I made Junny cry. Success!!
Liah: the first dance. Dance lessons paid off! It was so much fun.
Tell us how you met and became engaged.
We met at at the Arizona state fair. It was a blind date set up by our best friends. He was consistent and I fell for it. He was smart to propose with the cutest puppy ever and I had to say YES (and a gorgeous ring helped).
