Jennie and Zach’s Wedding at the Historic Bingham House
featuring Cassie Loree Photography
Jennie and Zach celebrated their marriage with a gorgeous wedding day at the historic Bingham House in Texas. The couple sought the help of close friends, and fabulous stylists, at Blooming House Collective, for all their event styling—and, wow, was it ever beautiful! The florals are beyond spectacular, from the signage wreath, to the head pieces to the striking bouquet. And we love the underlying romance in every stunning image captured by Cassie Loree, who happens to be another friend of the couple. How talented are Jennie and Zach’s friends?!
What made the wedding special and unique?
Our October wedding celebration was special to us because it was actually a follow up to a more intimate ceremony we had in April. We were able to use our close friends at Blooming House Collective for all our styling, the title theme “I Love You, I Do” came from a song written by a close friend of the brides, Maggie Koerner, photography by another close friend, Cassie Loree Photography. Having it in the evening at the Bingham House set the perfect backdrop for the atmosphere we were trying to accomplish. This really was a celebration for all our friends and family!
Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!
I first became aware of Berta Bridal through searches on Pinterest, but quickly realized how hard it would be to actually get a dress, let alone just see one in person. The nearest store to try one on was NYC or Boston and that wasn’t happening. In perfect timing, I found out they were doing trunk shows in Texas and I was able to talk myself into an already booked show at Bridal Boutique Lewisville. The dream dress fit in one try. No alterations needed – so I knew for sure it was the one. So they sent off the order to be hand made and I would get it just a few weeks before the actual wedding date – cutting it super close.
What were some touches added to make it personal?
We tried to keep the whole ceremony very personal. First of all it was super low key – less than 100 guests – very close friends and family. Everything from start to finish was done through the same company (BHC) who did our invitations and also our event styling and all calligraphy (pics) . We were married by our friend and church pastor. In one of the sitting areas we were able to use some of my parents old radios that my dad had restored and scattered family photos around. Our 18 month daughter was a flower girl and also made her way up the stairs to join us for the sand pour. And finally for our sand pouring and first dance we had our close friends sing and play rather than a DJ. We also made sure every guest had a personalized name tag (BHC) to go home with.
What was the most memorable part of the day?
The entire day was a happy blur (even more than I thought it would be) but there were a few points where we were finally able to slow down for a moment. The first time was our first dance. We had our friend Taylor Phelan sing “All Of Me” by John Legend and that was when Zach and I were finally able to relax and feel everything happening around us. What an incredible day it had been so far! The next time was at the very end. We were picked up by a horse and carriage in front of Bingham house and I think we both had the biggest smiles and tears in our eyes as we were driven off and were able to look back at all of our friends and family who made all of this so special.
Tell us how you met and became engaged.
We met in Shreveport while I was recording an album at Blade Studios but it wasn’t until a few weeks later on the back of Dave Matthews tour bus driving to SXSW that we actually talked. Soon after that we moved back to Dallas and had a daughter named Stella. We had talked about getting married, but didn’t get serious about it until he proposed at our Valentine’s Day dinner the next year.
