Tressa and Mike’s Paso Robles wedding coordinated by Vanessa Noel Events at Lago Giuseppe Winery is full of fun pops of color, which you know is something we love around here! The couple incorporated many of their friends and family, who pitched in their talents to make the day that much more special. We know you are going to love these gorg images shot by Anna Delores Photography!
What made the wedding special and unique?
Our day was special because of the people who were a part of it. Not only were we surrounded by 175 of our closest family and friends, but the majority of our wedding vendors were friends as well. Our planner, photographer, musician, chef and venue owners were all good friends of ours, and it meant so much to have a special connection with those who were a part of planning and executing our special day. Gorgeous weather, a lovely venue, delicious food, stringing lights, dancing, and a full moon also contributed to our perfect day.
Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!
I never thought I would love wedding dress shopping as much as I did. We went to two bridal salons, Mon Amie in Costa Mesa and Love and Lace in Irvine. I ended up finding two that I loved, but decided on the first gown that I tried on, which was at Mon Amie. I loved the lace detail on the dress and I accessorized it with a crystal sash that was my favorite addition.
What were some touches added to make it personal?
Mike and I created a fun wine menu based on wines that have a special significance to us. Mike also designed all of our chalkboard signs… I was so impressed! Our planner, Vanessa from Vanessa Noel Event, inspired me (and also did a majority of the work) to make tie-died napkins, which i thought was a fun touch. Our flowers were also stunning! Lori Boe did a fabulous job of turning my very vague description of “pops of color” into an amazing display of flowers.
What was the most memorable part of the day?
We both really wanted to enjoy our day, take it all in and enjoy every moment of it, because we knew it would go by way to fast. Some of our highlights of the day were catching each others eyes as I walked down the aisle, taking a moment to look down from the top of the hill to watch everyone enjoying themselves, dancing like crazy with our friends and family, and our late night acoustic music, port and cigar session. The fact that not one but two people ripped their pants that night, I figured that’s a sign of a good party!
Tell us how you met and became engaged.
Mike and I met at JUSTIN winery in Paso Robles, where he was the Tasting Room Manager at the time. I was having lunch with my family on our way to Morro Bay. Mike happened to be pouring wine for us, so we started chatting with him and I could tell that he really enjoyed talking to us and getting to know us. I felt the same way about him. As we were leaving the tasting room, Mike handed me his business card and hinted that I should contact him next time I’m in the area (I was living in San Diego at the time). I sent Mike an email to reach out to him, we started talking on the phone, and a month later we went on our first date while he was visiting his family in Orange County.
Two years later, Mike and I were in Yosemite with my family right before Christmas. I thought my Mom had planned a family scavenger hunt around Yosemite, so I played along with it. Little did I know, it was all part of Mike’s plan to get me in front of Half Dome so that he could propose to me. It was a perfect day and we celebrated with champagne and an amazing dinner.
