“Too much of anything is bad. But too much champagne is just right.” This Mark Twain quote perfectly set the tone of a champagne-loving bride, Heather, and her handsome groom Matthew. Married at the private residence of the groom’s parents, the couple hired CES Wedding & Events to create a champagne-filled celebration in black and gold. We’re obsessed with the escort card display—the name tags were tied to tiny chairs made from the cages and caps of champagne bottles! And the invitations and signage by The Idea Emporium are minimalist, modern and playful—and plentiful! We know you’re going to love this one and Shannon Rosan captured every last detail in these beautiful images.
from the bride:
Matthew’s parents graciously offered to host our wedding on their beautiful property, with our ceremony and reception placed between the rows of almond trees. With the help of our family and my dear friends Carey, of The Idea Emporium, and Jodi, of CES Wedding & Events, months of work and decision-making was perfectly executed. I was truly lucky to have some of my dearest friends as our vendors for our wedding day.
As a wedding photographer myself, I LOVE details. So it was important that this love for details (and idioms) was sprinkled throughout; from our table names, to our chair signs, and even our cake topper. Carey did a beautiful job, and even surprised us on our day with matchbooks featuring our wax seal, drink stirrers, and wax sealed glasses for our flavored almond milk on our dessert bar! I was even surprised by my fabulous friend Molly of Molly Ryan Floral, who added gold brush strokes to several of the flowers in my bouquet.
We were inspired to create an elegant atmosphere in his family’s almond orchard. We wanted a romantic and intimate affair with all of our closest friends, family, and fire family. For our wedding ceremony, our guests were greeted to a Champagne Welcome Bar. Matthew’s Uncle Don officiated our ceremony and we celebrated our vows in between the orchard rows with a champagne toast.
As for our cocktail hour, it started with small Mac & Cheese in little ramekins (one of my favorite foods) and Moroccan Meatballs made with lamb raised by my family’s farm; both were absolutely to die for! Dinner was followed by our dessert bar, featuring all of our local favorites: French Macarons, Cookie Shoppe cookies, Shubert’s ice cream, Beber Almond milk (how perfect for an Almond Orchard wedding?!), and our delicious cake by Upper Crust.
It was absolutely everything I dreamed of and more!
