Brittany and Cameron’s nautical-inspired wedding day was an energetic blend of preppy stripes and seashore styling. Situated on a cliff overlooking Dana Point Harbor, Cannons Seafood Grill was the perfect venue for their event. We love the way the bride wove her wedding day vision through all the details and Sposto Photography captured each and every special moment. Anchors aweigh!
What made the wedding special and unique?
What made our wedding special and unique was the fact that I planned it all. I had a vision of every single detail that I wanted and spent every single weekend finding and collecting pieces to add to our wedding décor details. If it wasn’t for my god mother to put my thoughts to life and make it happen the wedding details would not be as amazing as it was, she nailed every single detail and truly captured the nautical theme wedding I had always envisioned!
Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!
After numerous wedding gown appointments my mom suggested to check out Davids Bridal as a last chance. I agreed. It was just me and my mom that day and I must have tried on at least 10 dresses and the one I picked was originally the very first dress I tried on, after hours pass by you tend to forget what dresses you have tried on. Well needless to say it came back around and I ended up trying it on and both my mom and I cried, it was the one!
What were some touches added to make it personal?
A few touches that made our wedding personal was we had our dear friend Marcus marry us which made it truly special because he really knew us and in engaged us not only to each other but to our friends and family that attended and made it very personal. Also, my husband and I wrote our own vows to each other which was very special.
What was the most memorable part of the day?
Most memorable part of the day was me waiting on top of the stairs to meet my father to walk me down the aisle. As I was walking down and he captured “his” first look he bursted into tears, I have never seen my father cry so for me I lost it! Of course I got myself together and walking hand in hand with my father down the aisle to marry my husband was truly a feeling that was so memorable and filled with love and happiness, I will never forget that amazing moment.
Tell us how you met and became engaged.
Well I knew of my husband in high school, I had a secret crush on him! He was a couple years older so he had no clue who I was. Years later and after college we were introduced through some friends and the rest was history, we fell in love! Four years later on February 13th which we all know was the day before Valentine’s Day (he threw me off guard!) I came home to a house lit up with candles and flowers everywhere! (It was just breath taking) He got on one knee and proposed, it was the best day and truly special.
