I want to become a society lady Rockin' a new rock?!

If you want a change from the traditional wedding festivities, you need to check out this bridal brunch inspiration shoot at the rustic White Sparrow Barn in Texas. Olive and Nine designed an elegantly casual atmosphere for the bridal party, who sat at a low table with colorful vintage place settings and and abundance of giant pillows and poufs. With the gentle hues of the flowers and a romantic floral crown for the bride, Blushing Blooms completed the vision for a lovely laid-back brunch for the bride and her maids. We know you’re going to LOVE this gallery of images by the most talented Katie Lamb.

The inspiration behind the shoot revolved around a bridal brunch for the modern and yet laid-back bride who values friendship and community. We utilized mauves, peaches, and organic hues, while throwing in a little bit of bold with the deep plum and sweet yellow tones.

The short, Moroccan table created a space where the bride and her maids could relax, laugh freely with one another, and enjoy friendship. The pillows and layered rugs with cowhide and woven pieces assisted in adding texture and the flare of the bride’s personality.

Vintage table pieces hinted at the bride-to-be’s forever, while the soft and delicate florals whispered new beginnings. Her peacock chair and wicker lounge area helped to bring the space alive with the touches of greenery and leathered poufs.

What made the wedding special and unique?[/caption]

I have wanted to have my wedding at Cedarwood as long as I’ve know about it – almost 5 years ago. To be able to have my wedding there was a dream come true and truly special. The venue was intimate, elegant, country, and organic which encompassed everything that I had envisioned. One of the most unique things about that day was that everyone in the wedding party has known each other for 8+ years. We have dated for over 8 years so it was fun to have everyone anxiously awaiting this day almost as much as we were!

My gown was Essence of Australia. It was a beautiful, soft, all-lace gown that had a champagne-colored underlay with a deep V in the back and scalloped bordering along the train. I had imagined myself wearing a dress like this the entire time but happened to find another dress initially that I was happy with only for a short time. I ended up revisiting LVD, a designer off the rack bridal boutique, because I knew I would find my dress there. LVD has a boho, non-traditional, effortless, romantic style that I was interested in. I wanted something non-traditional and felt like “me”. The soft lace and different color underlay drew me in! When I put on the dress, I knew it was the one and couldn’t wait to show Alex. He ended up loving it and that’s all that I could ask for!

What were some touches added to make the wedding personal?

I wore my mother’s garter from my parents’ wedding. We made a guest book full of pictures of us two over the last 8 years together. Alex and I wrote each other letters/vows to each other and read them privately. Our beloved dog, Brock, was our ring bearer.

What was the most memorable part of the day?It poured all day up until we had our first look and we got the chance to take pictures outside while the rain let up. That was such a blessing since the only thing I cared about was having pictures outside. Having a first look with Alex was precious so we could have a few moments together during the busy day. The ceremony was amazing; having both of our dads being involved with his dad marrying us. We had the most fun that day with all of the people that we loved and we couldn’t ask for anything better.

Tell us how you met and became engaged.

Freshman year of college, my best friend and I were invited to go to a friend’s house for a party. I met Alex that night at the party and I could not stop laughing. He is such a witty person and of course I thought he was hot! We had an immediate attraction and were inseparable all night. We were beer pong partners and played each other in Wii bowling and I kicked his butt! After that night, I could not stop thinking about him. We started talking and shortly after started dating and the rest is history!

My parents came in town one weekend in the spring and Alex, his parents, and me took them to the Pollock family farm to show them the house we fixed up and to hang out on the farm. We took my parents down to the creek to show them around and started skipping rocks. My parents decided to head back up the house and Alex and I stayed for a minute. We started kissing and then he got down on one knee and asked me to be his forever. It was more perfect than I could’ve imagined; being with family at the farm was intimate, personal, and everything to me.

Summary from Callista and Company:

Melissa and Evan are a quintessential Californian couple with classic taste and the most genuine love for one another. Their guest book was one of my favorites, drawing inspiration from the vineyard setting and using an assortment of wine bottles labeled with milestone anniversaries. On each anniversary, Melissa and Evan will break open a bottle to reveal the notes inside.

Not many things could steal your attention from the gorgeous bride and groom, but Melissa and Evan’s seven adorable flower girls definitely managed to share in the spotlight on the wedding day. I truly felt part of their large and loving family when planning the wedding, and my gratitude to JennaBeth Photography for capturing it all so beautifully!

From Leslie Dawn Events:

So many of us have memories of visiting a farm with the smell of hot baked apple pie drifting  through the countryside and fresh eggs on the table as the early morning sun broke through the clouds. There was something so comforting and also romantic in the early hours of the day.

We wanted to design a wedding concept reminiscent of those early mornings on the farm. We chose a muted palette of neutrals and brought in fresh baked goods. We wanted to convey a sophisticated and soft farmhouse style with slight rustic elements that created a charming and romantic backdrop.
