Hello Grey Fans!
Allow me to begin by letting you know that I am SO excited to be sharing my bridal bliss with you and hopefully providing you with some experiences and expertise that will guide you through the planning of your big day! Whether you are a bride-to-be or simply wedding obsessed, I hope to share my experiences and get your feedback. From one bride to another, I can use all the help I can get!
My passion for weddings and events was sparked long before my Prince Charming popped the question. I’m the kind of person that throws a party for the sake of decorating the house. I’ll have a get together just so I can use my new matching napkin and straw set. I will send people home with carefully crafted party favors to thank them for coming over for afternoon tea. I have an excessive craft bin and continue to stuff it until the lid can no longer close. I’ll send out themed invitations to a family dinner to which everyone already confirmed their attendance… my name is Samantha, and I have a problem.
Nice to meet you. Now, back to my Prince Charming, otherwise known as Daniel. He is my rock, a true gentleman, always supporting my latest ideas, determined to make me laugh, a man of his word and could not have been more wonderful if I dreamt him up myself. I warned you I was a sucker for romance.
Me & DanWe met at one of our best friend’s (and now bridesmaid’s) birthday. We hardly spoke, in fact I’m not sure if we were even introduced but as the .COM era would have it, we quickly became Facebook friends after discovering we were in several of the same photos together. He worked his charm and somehow managed to convince me to give him my number. We had our first date in the Old Port of Montreal, where romance lives. What was supposed to be breakfast, turned into a full day event, complete with lunch and dinner. We’ve been inseparable ever since.
Although plans for the future were always openly discussed, the proposal took me by complete surprise! We were in Florida with some friends and family. It was the fourth of July, the boys were out getting champagne and fireworks for an Independence Day celebration on the beach, while us girls were soaking in the sun. Upon his arrival, Daniel asked me if I wanted to go for a walk on the beach. Me, being the romantic I am and him, always surprising me with cute outings, I thought nothing of it. So we walked down the steps onto the sand as the sun was setting. We walked passed everyone until we were the only ones in sight. We stopped momentarily and shared a kiss and exchanged “I love you’s” and our walked continued. After a few seconds, Daniel pulled me close. My heart fluttered. Next thing I knew, he was down on one knee and asking me to marry him. Now, in case you haven’t noticed… this is not a guy you want to let get away. Of course I said yes! We joined everyone who was waiting with champagne and their cameras. We ended the evening with a firework show, laughter and memories to last a lifetime.
That was almost two years ago and now we only have four and a half months left until we are officially Mr & Mrs! We’re in the final stretch and I’m so happy to be sharing it with you!
Cheers!Lady Samantha
