All backyard weddings are not created equal…because, well, not all backyards are created equal. I’ve seen everything from extravagant affairs to down-home ranch-style weddings, all set in a backyard. When I saw Ashley and Clayton’s wedding photos shot by Emily Takes Photos and read the background on their wedding, I knew you’d love it! Not only did they plan a very low-key budget friendly wedding, they also put together an event that is tasteful, thoughtful, and absolutely beautiful! Be sure to read the info from Emily while you peruse the pretty images!
There are more goodies coming up later today and…THIS JUST IN!!! We’ve got a really big exciting new feature on Grey Likes Weddings, and it is just for photographers. That’s right. You heard me. Just you, my photo colleagues! So get on up and get over here later today!
From Emily: Ashley and Clayton were married in her grandmother’s backyard in the Santa Cruz mountains, followed by an hors d’oeuvres and cupcake reception on the upper deck for 50 guests. A few neighbors and family friends came over for the afternoon to help prep and serve the food and drinks. The flowers were done by a family friend, and the decorations were done by Ashley and Clayton, with a little help from Etsy. Their friend who played guitar during the ceremony played another song during the reception for an impromptu first dance. Towards the end of the reception, Clayton’s dad brought out cigars for everyone to enjoy on the lower deck.
