Jessica and Michael were married on the historic grounds of a family estate in upstate New York. In a setting that offered a traditional elegance, the couple, along with event planner Bridget Williams, infused their day with fresh, personalized details. From the bride’s blush gown, to the gorgeous, punchy colors of the interiors to the tent filled with incredible, soft and fluffy floral structures by Evergreen Floral, the details are bold, romantic and totally fun. High Five For Love was behind the lens to create these gorgeous images we know you’ll enjoy as much as we do!
What made the wedding special and unique?
Being at a family property was a dream of Michael and Jessica’s and was one of the main attributing factors to what made their day so special. From the time of pictures to the ceremony, their day was surrounded by their family.
Tell us about the gown and where/how you found it!
The wedding gown was nothing of what I pictured I’d wear but when I tried it on, I just knew I wouldn’t find anything else like it. It was soft and feminine but a definite statement. The blush color was a shock to everyone, but added such a touch of my personality to the look. It ended up being more beautiful than I could have imagined.
What were some touches added to make it personal?
Favorite special details: Olive oil was shipped in from the family’s orchard in Italy for the wedding favors. All of the branding was custom. Impromptu photo session with a black and white umbrella which quickly became some of couple’s favorite photos. Late night local taco truck. String quartet who made their version of “Wild Heart” by the Bleachers for the song the bride walked down the aisle to. The clear top tent, beautifully decorated by a floating cloud of thousands of ivory and blush flowers and chandeliers.
What was the most memorable part of the day?
Most memorable part of the day was the first look: When we first heard the idea of doing a first look, neither if us were into it at all. We felt like it was going steal all the excitement of the initial moments seeing each other from down the aisle but we were seriously wrong. The first look gave us solid time to connect and be alone as a couple before the whirlwind started. Seeing each other and spending those moments together ended up being some of the most special memories we had from our wedding. It gave us a chance to actually enjoy our day and be even more present and excited about every detail because the nerves were gone. Seeing each other in the ceremony did not lose its emotion one bit; it still was everything I dreamed it would be. We were so grateful we made the choice.
