Jason Wahler, who you may know from his roles in Laguna Beach and The Hills, has an incredibly inspiring story of overcoming addiction, finding a new sense of purpose, and finally getting to wed his gorgeous bride, Ashley Slack. You can read Jason’s version of the big day here, but we thought it would be fun to share the photos from their gorgeous wedding at Los Calamigos Ranch, and include Ashley’s insight on the the big day. We couldn’t feel any luckier to be featuring such a beautiful wedding, which was designed by Ciao Bella Events, with stunning florals by Charmaine’s Bouquet Canyon Florist and shot by Sun & Sparrow Photography.
What made the wedding special and unique?
Our wedding was so special and unique because we really took every single part in planning our day. From every little detail to the personalized ceremony which was performed by Jason’s father. Everything was done to our expertise which really made this day our day and extremely special for the two of us.
Tell us about your dress and where/how you found it.
I actually first found it in L.A. and then ordered it down in Orange County from Mary Me Bridal. It was an Allure gown originally with a full lace neck and A-line skirt. I redesigned the whole thing by myself. I had the whole top cut off to create that sweetheart neckline and added a large petticoat to create that princess gown. I also ordered a crystal belt which I added to the dress. It was completely personalized and custom so that no other bride would ever have the same dress and I love that!
What was the most memorable part of the day?
Walking down the aisle with all of our friends and family there was the most incredible moment. Words can not even begin to describe the sense of emotion.
What were some touches added to make it personal?
The whole wedding has hidden touches to really make it personal. My sister created custom signs for our entrance, cigar, and s’more bar. We had a beautiful family wall whiCh was displayed on a vintage latter in the back where every family member brought their original wedding portrait and displayed for everyone to see. All table names were after our favorite old hollywood celebrities. Jason and I both had a custom dress and tux made from our favorite designers. Also my ring bearer pillow was made custom from fabric on my moms wedding dress which was very special to me. The list is endless we really put as many personal touches on anything we could for our special day.
Tell us how you became engaged.
Jason proposed in November 2012 at our home. I had no idea he was going to do it that day so I was extremely surprised. I came home after a long day of work to hundreds of roses and pictures of us as I walked into our room. I was in utter shock. Jason was standing behind Me in a full suit on one knee. It was like a fairytale. Not to mention after the proposal he had set up a huge surprise engagement party at our favorite restaurant with all of our loved ones.
