Kristin and Tyler’s wedding is an incredibly gorgeous celebration full of surprising ombre details that we love! But beyond that, you must read Kristin’s story. She shared with us that she lost her mom to a battle with breast cancer just before getting engaged–and that the celebration was very much inspired by her (I love the picture of Kristin and her dad walking down the aisle–such an emotional moment).
Tyler and I met, first as friends and eventually becoming something more, and over the last six and a half years fell deeply in love with one another. We got engaged this past February when my mom lost an inspiring and hard fought battle to breast cancer and shortly after, my dad gave Tyler her wedding ring, along with his blessing to ask me to marry him. I woke up on the morning of her celebration of life with her ring on my finger and my perfect partner asking me to hang out with him forever. Our engagement was short, but very sweet, and the majority of it was spent in Italy where I had returned to finish my professional volleyball season and he’d come with. In between researching venues and hashing out guest lists, we took road trips to Venice, Florence, Rome, and down the Mediterranean coast to Cannes….but of most important note while in Italy (re wedding), I found my wedding dress. I stumbled upon an amazing personal shopper who took me to meet a number of wedding dress designers in Milan…I tried so many beautiful dresses on that day, but the most perfect was (the one I ended up purchasing) designed and handmade by Antonio Riva. It had just come off the runway and is the only one of its kind ever made. That experience was super special because not only did I find my dream dress, but I got to meet the designer and have him fit me for it as well. After that, things started falling into place when we found our superman photographer Josh Elliott, who ended up eventually linking us to our incredibly inspired venue. Summer flew by and September arrived, and our wedding day was perfect. The people, the place, the energy, the dancing, the love, the sunset… it was all perfect. And it was all inspired by her.
Now that I’ve completely teared up, we’ll share the gorgeous images with you shot by Josh Elliott Photography.
This beautiful chair was decorated in honor of Kristin’s mother.
