This wedding is absolutely beyond words! Everything from the little attendants, to the farm-to-table style centerpieces (featuring unique elements like eggs hidden amongst florals) is absolutely perfection. This absolute beauty was sent to us by Braedon Flynn Photography, whose work always always makes us stop and take notice.
From Katelyn and Eric:
It wasn’t exactly love at first sight in our case. It was more of a slow build. We were friends who started dating because we enjoyed hanging out with each other. Then one day I think we just realized that nothing made us happier than being together, so naturally it only made sense that we should do it for the rest of our lives. We fell in love with one another because we were best friends.
We met and went to school together in Southern California. After we graduated we moved to NYC, but when it came to choosing where we would like to get married it only seemed natural that it should be in California, right where it all began. We loved the look of a barn wedding and Dos Pueblos Ranch was everything we had in mind… more importantly, it was available, so we booked it on the spot. In fact, neither of us had actually seen it in person before we sent the deposit. Fortunately it was more beautiful than we could have ever imagined!
Our inspiration came from scouring all the wedding blogs we could find. We wanted to keep in line with the overall aesthetic of the venue, so what we ended up with was a rustic, romantic feel. Since we both have pretty demanding jobs and the wedding was being planned across the country from the venue, it was a little hard to do a lot of the design on our own. Luckily we had the amazing Mrs. Brown helping us the whole way, allowing us to stay on track and make a few of our own personal touches such as the honey jar wedding favors and the invitations.
Our favorite moments looking back would probably have to be the ceremony itself and just dancing the night away with our family and friends. One of Kate’s life long family friends performed the ceremony and he did such an incredible job. The ceremony was originally supposed to take place outside, but had to be changed to inside due to the potential of rain. I don’t think we could have been more happy after seeing the way the designers at Dos Pueblos transformed the barn to get it ready for the ceremony. As for the dancing part, well… who doesn’t like to party? We tried, but could not pick out just a few of our favorite things, every detail– the barn, the decor, the food, the band– it all came together to create a perfect night. Just take a look at the pictures and see for yourself!
